As soon as the Prometheus docked with the alien station, a walkway extended and attached itself to the ship. Aiko worried for a moment if their airlock would be compatible, but her worry proved unneeded. The station’s had adaptive connectors as it probably dealt with a lot of different types of ships. They had been informed of the composition of the atmosphere on the station, and it was compatible with human requirements.

Kane stood beside her, with her squad around him dressed in their CES suits which were pitch black, with their helmets opened and their weapons turned to the floor. She also had a squad of space-marines with their dark green CES suits. Aiko, Commander King, and Specialist O’nga wore their regular spacesuits, without their helmets. She’d added the Wanderer to the meeting party as she wanted the crew to seem a bit more multiracial. But they were the only people in the corridor. She had the rest of crew ready at their stations.

When her airlock opened, she saw a group of aliens walk inside. The sight of the first alien drew her face in tightly as she tried to keep herself from reacting in any negative way. She forced herself to relax as the alien of the same race that they had always identified with the Qash’vo’tar walked onto her ship. They knew that the Qash’vo’tar had several member races, they had even captured a few different ones on Earth. Although one race was in greater majority. Later they had found out that that was done on purpose as they resembled Humans more than the other races.

Aiko knew that the alien standing in front of her now wasn’t Qash’vo’tar. They had learned that the races of the old Zhal’Qash Empire hadn’t split on racial lines, but rather by their ideologies. Both the Zhal Confederation and the Qash’vo’tar were comprised of mostly the same races. The two following behind him were much different. One was almost twice as tall as a human and wide, looking almost like a walking rock with vaguely human features. The other looked nothing like a human, but rather like a short insect with a carapace on its back and six manipulator and two walking limbs.

“Greetings,” the leading alien spoke. “I am inspector Taunhja of Jar Allera. I welcome you to our humble station.”

Aiko stepped forward. “I am Aiko Nishimura, Captain of the Prometheus.”

Inspector Taunhja inclined his head in an almost bored fashion. “Welcome to Jar Allera, as this is your first visit we will be bringing you up to speed on the rules of Jar Allera. You are free to trade in our system and enjoy the benefits of Jar Allera protection and banking establishments as long as you follow these simple rules. Weapons are prohibited on the station. If you have issues with any of the inhabitants you may bring your grievances to the station security and we will look into it. You are required to pay the docking fee. Since you are new to this part of space, I assume that you have no credits.
